Juice designed by JJ Acuna Bespoke Studio is a retail clothing store located in the West District of Taichung, a city with a diverse history and vibrant cultural scene in Central Taiwan.
The concept which is underpinned by the use of simple and soulful materials is inspired by dorm life, a place where teenagers transition into adulthood by nurturing individuality and creativity sans the comfort of steadying familial influence.
The material profile of a typical dorm room plays into the design realisation of this two level retail unit to achieve a next level dorm life look and feel to the space. The facade features cherry coloured stained wood cladding encased by black steel frames creating a warm and inviting feel while sparking a sense of curiosity.

The symmetrical layout of the ground floor features central tables and benches with centrally fitted linear fluorescent pendants, reminiscent of a laboratory. These are flanked by illuminated shelving and railing units for clothing and shoe display.
The use of the cherry stained plywood in the overall scheme provides a sense of warmth to balance out the cool tones of the cinderblock walls and fluorescent lights. All changing rooms feature frosted glass partitions which provide an element of layering to the space.
The linear industrial lighting systems are by Eastern Bloc, a German manufacturer of refined pendants with emphasis on industrial heritage and British Industrial lights. All other furniture is manufactured bespoke in response to site requirements.
